It’s time for us to “Go Gold”! September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and the gold ribbon is its official symbol. Did you know that there are over 10,000 kids living with cancer in Canada? Yet only 3% of cancer research goes into childhood cancer? Stars in a Jar aims to help children currently battling cancer but we also acknowledge and know that these kids deserve more! So we encourage everyone, young and old to show their support for kids with cancer and go gold! This could mean wearing a gold ribbon, writing to your MP or volunteering with any number of childhood cancer organizations and groups in Canada including ours! We hope for a day when cancer is no longer seen as something scary for kids and their families!
